Meeting Copilot
Some meetings you'd love a second brain for — the negotiation, the tricky review, the call you walked into cold. The Meeting Copilot is a small window that floats over your screen while you record and helps you think in the moment: what to say next, what to ask, and what's already been agreed.
It's a quiet helper for you — it never speaks, joins or announces itself in the call, and everything it shows is just for your eyes on your own Mac.
The Meeting Copilot is a Mac-only feature and uses AI, so it needs an AI option set up in Settings → AI (your free monthly allowance, your own key, or a local model). Open it any time during a recording with ⌘⇧A (Command-Shift-A), or from the recording bar.
What it can do
While a meeting is recording, press ⌘⇧A to bring up the Copilot. It reads the conversation so far and offers three things at a tap:
- What should I say? — suggested talking points for right now, based on where the conversation has got to.
- Follow-up questions — sharp questions you could ask next to move things forward or fill in a gap.
- Recap — a quick catch-up on the decisions, open points and anything aimed at you, so you're never lost after stepping away.
Each answer is grounded in what's actually been said in your meeting — not generic advice.
Answer questions automatically
Turn on Answer questions and the Copilot watches for questions put to you in the conversation and drafts an answer as they come up — so a suggested reply is waiting before you've finished processing the question. Leave it off to stay fully in the driver's seat and ask for help only when you want it.
Your plan — walk in prepared
Give the Copilot a moment before the meeting and it can prepare a short brief from the invite and your past meetings with the same people: suggested talking points and questions to ask. During the call these become Your plan — a simple checklist you can tick off as you cover each point, so nothing important slips.
Screen awareness — off unless you ask
Sometimes the thing you need help with is on your screen — a slide, a spreadsheet, a document being shared. Tap What's on screen? and the Copilot takes a single snapshot of your screen and sends it, together with your question, to the cloud AI model you've chosen — only for that one answer.
We're deliberate about this:
- It's off by default and never runs in the background. A snapshot is only ever taken the moment you ask for one.
- It goes only to the AI model you picked, and only for that request. You choose which vision-capable model to use in the Copilot's settings.
- If you'd rather nothing ever leaves your Mac, simply don't use screen awareness — the text-based prompts work entirely from your on-device transcript.
Make it fit your screen
The Copilot window is yours to place. Drag it anywhere that's comfortable, drag its corner to resize it, and hide it with ⌘⇧A again (or the hide button) whenever you want a clear view. It remembers where you left it.
Private by design
The Meeting Copilot follows the same rules as the rest of Lalela. Your transcript is built on your Mac. The text prompts use whichever AI option you've set up — including a fully local model, if you'd prefer nothing leaves your device at all. Screen awareness is the one feature that sends anything outward, it's off until you turn it on, and even then only a single snapshot goes, only to your chosen model, only when you ask.
