Automations
Automations are Lalela's quiet assistant. They watch every meeting as it arrives — whether you recorded it, imported it, or synced it from a connected tool — and, when a meeting matches a rule you set, they act on it automatically. No copying, no filing by hand, no forgetting the follow-up.
Open them from Automations in the sidebar.
Prefer to watch? Click Watch intro at the top of the Automations screen (or open Help & guides → Watch) for a 90-second video of the whole flow.
The four tabs
- Library — a shelf of reusable summary prompts and workflow templates. Build a prompt style or a multi-step workflow once, and drop it into any rule. This is where Automations opens by default.
- Rules — the automations themselves: one row per rule, each with its trigger, its tag, and what it does. Toggle a rule on or off, edit it, or run it back over past meetings.
- Pending approvals — anything a rule wanted to send that you asked it to check with you first. Nothing here goes out until you click approve.
- History — the audit trail: every action every rule has taken, so you can always see what ran and when.
How a rule works
Every rule follows the same shape: trigger → tag → actions.
- Trigger — what makes a meeting match. Pick any mix of a title keyword, an attendee's name or email, or the meeting's source (say, everything from Microsoft Teams). Leave the trigger open and the rule applies to every new meeting.
- Tag — matching meetings get labelled, so they're easy to find and group later.
- Actions — what happens next. A rule can:
- File it into a folder — keep client calls, standups or interviews sorted without lifting a finger.
- Run a workflow — chain your prompt steps (extract decisions, draft a recap, pull out risks) over the transcript.
- Draft a summary — in the style you choose, ready the moment the meeting lands.
- Send it to another app — push the notes or tasks onward to the tools you already use.
Pending approvals — nothing leaves without your OK
Anything that sends information out of Lalela can be set to ask first. When it is, the rule doesn't send straight away — it drops the action into Pending approvals and waits. You review it, then approve or discard. So an automation can save you the work of drafting while never sending anything on your behalf until you say so.
History
Every action a rule takes is logged in History — filed, summarised, sent, or skipped. It's a plain, honest record of what your automations have done, so there are never any surprises.
Create your first automation
- Open Automations in the sidebar.
- Switch to the Rules tab and click New automation.
- Set a trigger — for example, a title keyword like "standup", or an attendee's email.
- Choose a tag so matching meetings are easy to spot.
- Pick your actions — file into a folder, draft a summary, run a workflow, or send onward. If you add a send, decide whether it should ask you first.
- Save. From now on, every meeting that matches is handled automatically — and if you want to catch up your existing meetings, run the rule back over your history.
Prefer a hands-on walkthrough? Open Help & guide in the app and take the Automate your meetings tour — it points out each step in the real app.
