AUXODocs

Auxo Codex (desktop)

Getting started

Auxo Codex is a native macOS app — there's nothing to sign up for and no account to create.

1. Download and install

Download the installer for your Mac and open the .dmg file. Drag Auxo Codex into your Applications folder, the way you would with any other Mac app.

2. Open it

Launch Auxo Codex from Applications or Spotlight. Because the app is signed and notarized, it opens normally — no extra security prompts to work around.

3. Point it at your vault

On first launch, click Select Codex Folder and choose the folder on your Mac where your notes live. See Connecting your vault for details — including how to add more than one vault, and what the sync indicator means if your vault is backed by git.

Tips for a good first session

  • Use the quick-switcher. Press ⌘K from anywhere in the app to jump straight to any note by name.
  • Start from Home. Vaults typically pin a Home or Map note at the top of the sidebar — a good place to get oriented.
  • Try the chat. Open the chat panel and ask a question in plain English; see Chatting with the local AI.
