What is Auxo Codex?

Auxo Codex is a desktop app for macOS that turns a folder of markdown notes — your team's knowledge vault — into a fast, navigable wiki. It reads your notes live from disk: nothing is copied or uploaded anywhere, and edits made elsewhere show up the moment you refresh.

What you can do

• Browse and search. A collapsible sidebar mirrors your vault's folder structure, with instant search and a ⌘K quick-switcher to jump to any note.
• Follow the links. Wikilinks, backlinks, an outgoing-links list, and a local connection graph help you see how notes relate to each other.
• See structure at a glance. Tags, statuses, and other note metadata render as badges and dashboards — useful for tracking things like clients, projects, or tasks across many notes at once.
• Edit in place. A split-screen editor with live preview and link autocomplete — save straight back to the file with Cmd+S.
• Ask questions about your notes. A built-in AI chat can answer questions using your vault's content as context, with clickable citations back to the source notes. See Chatting with the local AI.
• Keep things tidy. A housekeeping view flags likely duplicate folders, empty notes, and notes missing key details.
• Stay in sync. If your vault is a git repository, a sync bar shows when you're up to date, have unsaved changes, or have changes awaiting review.
