Frequently asked questions
Is the Codex a new app I have to move everything into?
No. It sits on top of a Markdown vault you already own. If you use Obsidian, it's the same files. Edit in Obsidian, the desktop app, or the web wiki — they all stay in sync through git and your existing storage.
Where does the AI get its answers?
Only from notes you're allowed to read. It uses tools to search and read the vault, then cites each note it used. It never invents facts, and restricted areas stay invisible to it.
Who can see what?
Access is defined per-folder and cascades. Admins see everything; everyone else sees exactly what they're granted. The same rules apply to the AI assistant.
Do I need the desktop app?
No — the web wiki works in any browser. The desktop app is for people who want a fast, offline, local-first experience reading straight from their own copy of the vault.
What does it cost?
We're onboarding early teams and pricing depends on team size and setup — talk to us at hello@auxo.digital.
Can we see it running?
Yes — the Codex runs Auxo Digital day-to-day, so a demo is a look at the real thing, not a sandbox. Ask us at hello@auxo.digital or visit codex.auxodigital.africa.
